Scholarships

Evaluation criteria:

The UFCW Local 881 Charitable Foundation scholarships are awarded to members of Local 881 or their dependent children. Winners are selected based on academic achievement, career goals, leadership, and a demonstrated understanding of the value of Union Membership. Judges consist of an independent panel of labor leaders, educators, civic leaders, and/or public officials.

All applications must include the following:

•  Completed application form
•  Written essay (topic described below)
•  Applicant’s complete official high school*and college (if applicable) transcripts; be sure GPA is included along with an explanation of how it is calculated (example: if your GPA is listed as 3.0, please document whether it is based on 4.0 or 5.0 scale)

*If applicant graduated from high school prior to 2022, a copy of his or her diploma can be submitted if transcripts
are unavailable. Failure to complete any part of the application will remove it from consideration.

Scholarship Award Amounts:

Amounts range from $1,000 to $4,000. These one-time cash awards are for study beginning in the Fall of 2027.

Application Deadline:

A complete application must be postmarked on or before Monday, March 1, 2027.
Applications postmarked after this deadline will not be considered.
