FIGHT FOR LIVING WAGES AND HEALTHCARE
Walmart Watch: Johnsburg, Illinois

Status: The Village is considering building a Walmart at the proposed site of Route 31 and Running Brook Farm Blvd.  A Zoning Hearing will take place on Tuesday, August 11, 2009, at 7:00 p.m. at Village Hall.
Action Needed:

Tell the Village Board of Trustees not to support Walmart unless the company provides living wages and affordable, comprehensive health care benefits for its associates.  Walmart should act as a responsible employer to the people of Johnsburg and nearby communities.

The village should also commission an independent study on the environmental effects of storm water/flooding issues that will be impacted by Walmart construction.
