One of Local 881's priorities remains to keep educating lawmakers about the damaging effects of Wal-Mart on taxpayers and working families. It is clear that Wal-Mart is willing to spend whatever it takes in an effort to continue business as usual and reap large profits off the backs of workers. We must all actively support politicians and candidates who will stand up for the rights of working families. In addition, I challenge each member of Local 881 to become a registered voter and a member of the Active Ballot Club (ABC). The Labor Movement has an asset that Wal-Mart cannot buy: you. We won't give up the fight to protect your wages and benefits from the harmful effects of Wal-Mart!

| How a Labor-Endorsed State Government Affects Local 881 Members | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
![]() |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| It is often said that all politicians in the different political parties are the same. While that may appear to be true, there are very stark differences that make a huge difference for the working families of Local 881. Since 2002, working families in Illinois have benefited by having a labor-endorsed Governor and a labor-friendly Illinois House and Senate. |
